Album Notes & Community Reviews
Avant-garde saxophonist and flutist Byard Lancaster takes a wildly unexpected detour into raw, gritty street-funk. Recorded in Paris, the album marries intense, shrieking free-jazz improvisations with relentless, repetitive funk basslines and drum breaks. The result is a highly energetic, abrasive, and completely unique artifact of the 1970s underground jazz-funk collision.
