Album Notes & Community Reviews
Cabaret Voltaire pivots away from harsh noise toward incredibly tight, heavily sequenced electro-funk on '2x45', signaling their shift toward EBM. The album balances relentless drum machine propulsion and prominent basslines with deeply cryptic vocal samples and bursts of dissonant synthesizer noise, resulting in a highly rhythmic, brilliantly anxious, and futuristic atmosphere.
