Album Notes & Community Reviews

Teaming up with New York avant-garde producers Arto Lindsay and Peter Scherer, the legendary Brazilian songwriter injected a startling blast of modern, angular art rock into his traditional MPB framework. 'Estrangeiro' is characterized by jarring synthesizer stabs, dense polyrhythms, and Veloso's fiercely poetic lyrical examinations of Brazilian identity and political history. It stands as one of his most daring and experimental late-career triumphs.
