Album Notes & Community Reviews

The legendary Brazilian songwriter delivers a highly ambitious, conceptually dense album deeply focused on the history of slavery and abolitionism in Brazil. 'Noites do norte' blends sophisticated MPB structures with regional Afro-Brazilian rhythms like Afox茅 and surprising bursts of modern alternative rock guitar. Veloso's poetic, historically charged lyricism anchors the highly eclectic, musically expansive project.
