Album Notes & Community Reviews

Helping to ignite the West Coast Latin jazz craze, 'Ritmo Caliente!' features the vibraphonist seamlessly blending authentic Afro-Cuban percussion with cool jazz aesthetics. The infectious, danceable rhythms are elevated by sophisticated harmonic structures and fluid improvisation. The release solidified Tjader's role as a primary popularizer of cross-cultural musical synthesis in the 1950s.
