Album Notes & Community Reviews

Arranged masterfully by Lalo Schifrin, this ambitious record merges West Coast cool jazz vibraphone with sweeping, cinematic orchestral textures inspired by Far Eastern motifs. The integration of Asian scales and percussion creates an expansive, moody exotica that transcends mere novelty. 'Several Shades of Jade' stands as one of the most sophisticated, atmospheric concept albums of the early 1960s lounge era.
