Album Notes & Community Reviews
Tim Rutili鈥檚 long-running indie rock project returns with a subtly fragmented, deeply mellow exploration of experimental Americana. 'Villagers' relies on loosely assembled, acoustic-driven folk structures that are frequently interrupted by stuttering tape loops, synthesizers, and mild dissonance. The album reflects a distinctly apathetic, yet beautifully weathered, Los Angeles-informed evolution of the band's Chicago roots.
