Album Notes & Community Reviews
Released on the fiercely independent, artist-run Black Jazz label, this debut from the gifted guitarist is a supremely soulful, intensely spiritual jazz masterwork. The session effortlessly bridges the gap between the complex modal improvisation of late 60s hard bop and the deeply rhythmic, slightly psychedelic warmth of 70s soul-jazz. It remains one of the most highly prized and universally acclaimed releases in the Black Jazz catalog.
