Album Notes & Community Reviews

Resurrected from legal limbo and entirely re-recorded, Don Van Vliet's 'Shiny Beast' is a glorious, wildly complex return to avant-garde form. The Magic Band effortlessly executes incredibly manic, abstract rhythms and tropical calypso flourishes, perfectly backing Beefheart's deeply surreal, humorous, and delightfully playful blues-rock poetry.
