Album Notes & Community Reviews

Featuring her distinctively idiosyncratic approach to large-ensemble composition, 'Heavy Heart' finds the renowned pianist exploring surprisingly accessible, almost smooth-jazz territories. The album maintains her signature wit and complex harmonic structures but softens the edges with lush horn arrangements and relaxed tempos. It stands out as a uniquely mellow and melodic entry in her extensive avant-garde discography.
