Album Notes & Community Reviews

Operating at the nexus of the American and European avant-garde, 'Jazz Realities' features composer and pianist Carla Bley collaborating with Michael Mantler and Steve Lacy. The sessions are marked by chaotic, highly technical free improvisations that actively dismantle conventional melodic expectations in favor of raw acoustic dissonance.
