Album Notes & Community Reviews

'Comfort Me' places Carla Thomas within the Stax sound, where Memphis rhythm sections and gospel-rooted vocal phrasing shaped a distinct alternative to Motown's pop-soul polish. The record underscores her importance as one of the label's central early voices.
