Album Notes & Community Reviews

Seeking to shed her mellow folk-rock image, Carly Simon embraced a much harder, heavily synthesized rock sound for her ninth studio album. Produced by Mike Mainieri, 'Come Upstairs' incorporates angular new wave rhythms and dance-pop elements into her deeply personal songwriting. The record yielded the major hit 'Jesse' and demonstrated her willingness to evolve aggressively with the turn of the decade.
