A Foggy Day With Carmen McRae

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Showcasing the impeccable phrasing and slightly acerbic wit of the legendary jazz vocalist, this early collection highlights her deeply rhythmic approach to melody. Carmen McRae navigates standards with an intuitive swing that firmly established her alongside Fitzgerald and Vaughan. The split-release nature of the original issues also provides an interesting retrospective of big band era singing.
