Album Notes & Community Reviews

Showcasing her impeccable phrasing and slightly acerbic emotional depth, the acclaimed vocalist interprets a sophisticated set of romantic standards. Arranged by Luther Henderson, the lush, string-heavy orchestrations provide a majestic setting that never overwhelms her deeply rhythmic, jazz-informed delivery. The album firmly solidifies her standing as one of the most distinctive and capable vocalists of the era.
