Album Notes & Community Reviews

Owen Ashworth relies entirely on cheap, battery-powered Casio keyboards to construct incredibly intimate, heartbreakingly sad indie-pop vignettes. The lo-fi, deliberately primitive synthetic arrangements perfectly underscore his deadpan vocal delivery and deeply specific, highly literate lyrical narratives of romantic failure and Midwestern isolation. It is a quintessential, defining masterpiece of the early 2000s bedroom pop movement.
