Album Notes & Community Reviews

The fourth studio album from the enigmatic Californian songwriter offers an incredibly smooth, meticulously crafted set of vintage-sounding folk-rock. Produced by Ariel Rechtshaid, the record relies on gentle, shuffling rhythms, shimmering pedal steel, and McCombs's languid, whispery vocal delivery. Its understated beauty and wry, observational lyricism earned widespread critical acclaim and significantly broadened his underground fanbase.
