Cate Le Bon’s seventh album, 'Michelangelo Dying', continues the sonic explorations of its predecessors, blending art rock with murky synthesizers, flanged guitars, and prominent, emotive saxophone arrangements. Born from the unexpected dissolution of a long-term relationship, the album serves as a candid and direct exploration of heartbreak, self-abandonment, and the chaotic, repetitive nature of grief. Co-produced with Samur Khouja and featuring a collaboration with John Cale, the universally acclaimed record presents Le Bon’s vocals more centrally than ever, resulting in her most transparent and emotionally resonant work to date.
