Album Notes & Community Reviews

The Brooklyn-born rapper unspools a highly abstract, remarkably intricate sequence of poetic vignettes over deep, sample-heavy underground hip-hop production. Frequently utilizing completely drumless jazz rap loops, the incredibly sparse musical backdrop emphasizes his complex, stream-of-consciousness wordplay. 'Different Type Time' is a brilliant, uncompromisingly cerebral highlight of the modern conscious rap renaissance.
