Album Notes & Community Reviews

Highlighting the soaring, deeply emotional alto saxophone of Charlie Mariano, this album is brilliantly enveloped in the sophisticated arrangements of Don Sebesky. The large ensemble blends the fierce improvisational spirit of bebop with the complex, structured orchestrations of the Third Stream movement. It provides a stunning, cinematic canvas for Mariano's fiery, Charlie Parker-influenced virtuosity.
