Album Notes & Community Reviews

Highlighting the often-overlooked vibrancy of the early 1950s New England jazz scene, this release features Charlie Mariano's fierce, Charlie Parker-influenced alto saxophone. The tight ensemble, featuring talents like Herb Pomeroy, navigates highly complex bebop structures with aggressive, driving swing. The sessions document Mariano's critical early development before his profound excursions into global fusion.
