Album Notes & Community Reviews

Supported by a stellar ensemble that includes Miles Davis, 'Charlie Parker Sextet' captures the alto saxophonist continuing his unparalleled dominance of the modern jazz landscape. The rapid-fire bebop architecture is executed with blinding speed and melodic brilliance, while hinting at slightly more relaxed, linear structures. The sessions remain essential listening for enthusiasts of Parker's incredibly fertile early 1950s output.
