Album Notes & Community Reviews

A highly respected sideman throughout the 1950s, drummer Charlie Persip makes his leader debut leading a formidable hard bop quintet. Featuring an early appearance by trumpeter Freddie Hubbard, the album highlights Persip's remarkably crisp, propulsive drumming that intensely drives the aggressive, tightly arranged horn charts.
