Album Notes & Community Reviews

Captured during his highly prolific late-career European period, this beautifully understated session highlights the legendary trumpeter's enduring lyrical mastery. Backed by a superb, sensitive rhythm section including David Friedman on marimba, Baker delivers incredibly fluid, emotive solos that perfectly encapsulate his trademark melancholic warmth. It stands as a brilliant, intimate highlight of his 1980s discography.
