Album Notes & Community Reviews
The Chicago-born saxophonist guides his ensemble through an intricate set of avant-garde and modern creative jazz explorations. 'Morning Prayer' demonstrates his ability to fluidly navigate between aggressive free-blowing passages and deeply melodic, culturally rooted themes. The record underscores his position as a vital transitional figure connecting 1960s free jazz traditions to contemporary post-bop movements.
