Album Notes & Community Reviews

Accompanied by a stellar rhythm section including Cecil McBee and Jack DeJohnette, Chico Freeman navigates the turbulent waters between structured post-bop and fiery avant-garde exploration. The saxophonist's deeply expressive tone anchors the complex, highly interactive acoustic improvisations that define this exceptional studio date[cite: 1].
