Album Notes & Community Reviews

As one of the few white artists signed to Motown Records during its golden era, Chris Clark delivers a powerful, deeply soulful debut heavily backed by the legendary Funk Brothers. The production seamlessly blends the label's tightly controlled, rhythmic pop sensibilities with her distinctively raspy, impassioned vocal style. Despite struggling commercially, the album is highly regarded for its fierce, uncompromising interpretation of the classic Motown sound.
