Album Notes & Community Reviews

Spanning two discs, the pop vocalist pivots drastically from her previous mainstream styling, embracing vintage 1920s-1940s jazz, blues, and early soul aesthetics. She collaborated heavily with DJ Premier to modernize the retro sound through crisp hip-hop production and vocal sampling. It successfully highlighted her formidable vocal range outside of standard Top 40 trends.
