Album Notes & Community Reviews

Attempting to reinvigorate his sound during his tenure with Mercury Records, the rock and roll architect traveled to Tennessee to record with a formidable local backing band. The sessions inject a heavy dose of Southern soul and rich horn arrangements into his signature guitar style, resulting in a lively, deeply rhythmic reinvention of his classic groove. The record highlights his enduring flexibility as a rhythm and blues pioneer.
