Album Notes & Community Reviews

Embodying the angular, intellectual aggression of the Washington D.C. underground, the quartet's debut full-length is a masterclass in tension and release. 'Super Genius' features tightly coiled, rhythmic bass lines and biting guitar dissonance, serving as a platform for Chris Thomson's manic, sneering vocal deliveries. The Ian MacKaye-produced record captures the transitional era of post-hardcore as it evolved into more math-rock oriented territories.
