Album Notes & Community Reviews

Continuing Martin Newell's fiercely independent cassette-culture crusade, this jangle-pop masterstroke was recorded entirely on a four-track machine in a small English bedroom. The lo-fi production perfectly suits the wistful, 1960s-indebted melodies and Newell's biting, literate critiques of Thatcher's Britain and the Cold War climate. It remains a legendary touchstone for the international DIY indie-pop underground.
