Album Notes & Community Reviews

On their fifth studio album, 'Dead Channel Sky', the experimental hip-hop trio clipping. pivots from the horrorcore of their previous work to a dense, cyberpunk-infused soundscape conceived as a mixtape from a dystopian future. Daveed Diggs' intricate, narrative-driven rapping explores themes of technological anxiety and societal decay over producers William Hutson and Jonathan Snipes' abrasive, glitch-heavy electronics, which draw from '90s rave and industrial music. Augmented by guests like Nels Cline and Aesop Rock, the critically acclaimed album is noted for its ambitious thematic evolution and its kinetic fusion of experimental noise with futuristic hip-hop.
