Treasure

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Marking the arrival of bassist Simon Raymonde, 'Treasure' solidified the band's primary lineup and is considered the first full realization of their signature ethereal sound. Robin Guthrie's self-produced layers of shimmering guitar and crisp drum machine programming provide a textured landscape for Elizabeth Fraser's glossolalic and acrobatic vocals. The album's blend of otherworldly atmospheres with post-punk foundations defined the dream-pop genre and remains one of the band's most critically acclaimed works.
