The first half of a sprawling double-album concept, this release marks the return of founding drummer Josh Eppard to the progressive rock outfit. It expands the band's complex sci-fi 'Amory Wars' narrative with highly energetic, metallic riffing and Claudio Sanchez's soaring, passionate vocal melodies.
