Album Notes & Community Reviews

The California quartet's debut merges jittery, blues-inflected guitar lines with clattering piano and soulful, narrative-driven vocal performances. Its raw, unpolished energy and distinctively narrative lyrics about troubled characters helped it stand out in the heavily populated 2000s indie rock blogosphere.
