Album Notes & Community Reviews

Pioneering the UK sample-culture movement, the production duo of Matt Black and Jonathan More delivered an immensely influential debut that bridged hip-hop turntablism with burgeoning acid house. Featuring a wide array of guest vocalists including Lisa Stansfield and Mark E. Smith, the album is a dizzying patchwork of stolen breakbeats and pop hooks. It served as a foundational blueprint for the entire 1990s British dance and trip-hop scene.
