Album Notes & Community Reviews
The fourth album from the Santa Cruz psychedelic rock outfit, and their first for the Sub Pop label. 'Avatar' marked a notable evolution in the band's sound, reigning in some of the chaotic noise of their earlier work in favor of more focused songwriting and pronounced melodicism. Despite this shift, the record retains the band's blistering energy, with sprawling jams, heavy guitar riffs, and Echoplex-drenched textures firmly intact.
