Album Notes & Community Reviews

Riding high on the unstoppable momentum of their previous blockbusters, 'Midnight Magic' perfectly refines the Commodores' enormously successful quiet storm formula. The album balances polished, mid-tempo funk grooves with Lionel Richie's masterful, soaring adult contemporary ballads, most notably the iconic 'Sail On'. It achieved massive multi-platinum success, confirming the group as peerless titans of sophisticated late-seventies R&B.
