Album Notes & Community Reviews

Anchored by bright, precise trumpet articulations, this set exemplifies the contrapuntal elegance heavily associated with the Los Angeles studio scene. The tightly arranged charts integrate the harmonic vocabulary of bebop while maintaining the breezy, intellectual restraint of the West Coast movement. It highlights the technical proficiency required to balance aggressive improvisation with meticulously crafted small-group orchestrations.
