Album Notes & Community Reviews

'Jane Doe' is a landmark metalcore album that solidified Converge's lineup with bassist Nate Newton and drummer Ben Koller, fostering a more collaborative and ferocious songwriting approach. Produced by Matthew Ellard and guitarist Kurt Ballou, the album's raw, dynamic sound was achieved through analog tape recording, complementing Jacob Bannon's poetic yet visceral lyrics centered on the emotional fallout of a failed relationship. Its fusion of technical intensity, discordant harmonies, and atmospheric passages, along with Bannon's iconic artwork, cemented 'Jane Doe' as a pivotal and highly influential work in extreme music.
