Mickphone

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Japanese unit COPTER4016882 works in the Shibuya-kei tradition of cut-and-paste pop, and 'Mickphone' miniaturises that idiom into picopop: bright samples, toy-like keyboards and melodies assembled from Burt Bacharach, Brian Wilson, Phil Spector and Serge Gainsbourg reference points. The result is a collage record of deliberately small scale and dense quotation.
