Amaterasu

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Conceptually centered on Japanese mythology, 'Amaterasu' is a work of intense, sophisticated avant-garde progressive rock. The album builds upon a Zeuhl foundation, driven by a relentless rhythm section and frantic keyboards, while incorporating the raw energy of punk and the complex freedom of spiritual jazz. The compositions are defined by the intricate interplay between gritty, soaring violin and frenetic saxophone, with ethereal and chanted vocals adding to the music's expansive, emotionally charged force.
