Album Notes & Community Reviews

Under the direction of legendary producer Tom Wilson, the San Francisco stalwarts recorded this significantly more polished and accessible follow-up to their earlier, aggressively political works. The album features a revised lineup and leans into a mellower, highly melodic brand of psychedelic rock accented with light soul inflections. While less radical than their debut, it showcased the group's evolving musicianship as the psychedelic era began to wane.
