Produced by Don Was, Cristina Monet-Palaci's final studio album is a biting, satirical masterpiece of mutant disco and new wave. Her deadpan, spoken-word vocal delivery ruthlessly skewers upper-class decadence and urban nightlife over angular, funk-inflected instrumentation. Despite its brilliance, the record was a commercial failure, prompting her permanent retirement from the music industry.
