Album Notes & Community Reviews

Featuring a massive sextet lineup including Freddie Hubbard and Jimmy Heath, 'Soul Trombone' positions Curtis Fuller as a premier soloist and bandleader on the Impulse! roster. The album demonstrates his remarkably fluid, rapid-fire trombone technique, applying saxophone-like dexterity to the cumbersome brass instrument. It stands as one of his strongest, most heavily swinging sessions as a primary leader.
