Honesty

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Attempting to navigate the heavily synthesized and highly commercialized R&B landscape of the early 1980s, the soul legend delivered a lush, deeply romantic collection of ballads. Produced largely without his iconic, biting social commentary or gritty funk workouts, the record leans heavily into sleek, adult-oriented orchestrations. While often overlooked in his expansive catalog, it highlights the enduring beauty and unmatched falsetto of his vocal performances.
