Album Notes & Community Reviews

Signing with Boardwalk Records, the Chicago soul legend briefly shifts toward a slicker, highly commercial production style. 'Love Is the Place' largely avoids Mayfield's signature socio-political commentary in favor of heavily orchestrated, mid-tempo romantic ballads and light disco grooves.
