Album Notes & Community Reviews
Emerging alongside the first wave of British progressive rock, the quintet's debut famously features Darryl Way's prominent electric violin and Francis Monkman's complex keyboards in place of a lead guitarist. Anchored by the theatrical vocals of Sonja Kristina, the record masterfully blends driving acid rock with intense classical structuring. Originally released as one of rock's first picture discs, it cemented their status as formidable innovators.
