The Hundredweight

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Recorded in Germany for the Kuckuck label, this obscure British power trio's only release delivers a devastatingly heavy, organ and guitar-driven slab of early 1970s proto-metal. The album bridges the gap between raw, blues-based riffing and complex, slightly jazzy progressive arrangements, drawing frequent comparisons to early Deep Purple or Atomic Rooster. Barely promoted upon release, it has since become a legendary, highly sought-after rarity among heavy psych aficionados.
