The former Slapp Happy and Art Bears vocalist focuses her distinctively theatrical, vibrato-heavy delivery entirely on the repertoire of Bertolt Brecht, Kurt Weill, and Hanns Eisler. Available in both English and German versions, the record strips the Weimar-era cabaret compositions down to sparse, highly dramatic avant-pop arrangements.
